What are Facial Filling Injections?

Facial filling injections or injectables are cosmetic products such as hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxyl apatite and collagen which assist to revitalize skin, decrease wrinkles, augment lips, minimize scar depressions, and supplant volume loss in the soft tissues of the face. These products are used as a cosmetic treatment for a variety of issues but mainly the treatment of wrinkles and fine lines. They can provide temporary or long-lasting. Facial fillers literally “fill in” creases and folds in areas which have lost collagen and fat. Restylane®, Sculptra®, Radiesse®, and Juvéderm® are types of facial filling injections.                       

How Long will the Procedure Take?

Usually, the facial filler processes will take around 10 to 20 minutes. The exact time will be contingent on the patient and how much of the face is being addressed. If the individual is tackling a small number of lines or imperfections the time will be reduced. The procedure will include a set of small injections below the surface of the skin and the number dispensed will be affected by which product is being employed and how in depth the line or crease is.

What Results Can I Expect?

Results from facial filler injections normally lasts a few months to 12 months. This will vary with the exact product being employed. It is frequently suggested that individuals use these injectables in combination with other restorative skin and wrinkle treatments. Dermal facial injections necessitate a minimal recovery period and patients are commonly able to go back to work or their other activities as soon as the procedure is over.
